Lugo, December 1, 2021The President of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Stefano Bonaccini, visited the headquarters of ICEL today, December 1, 2021. ICEL is a leading cooperative in Lugo specializing in the production of electrical cables. Also present at the visit were Regional Councilor Manuela Rontini, Mayor of Lugo Davide Ranalli, Councilor for Production Activities of the Municipality of Lugo Luciano Tarozzi, President of Legacoop Romagna Mario Mazzotti, and Responsible for Industrial Cooperatives of Legacoop Romagna Elena Zannoni.
ICEL's management briefly presented the company, its products, and its target markets, focusing on the key values of the cooperative: quality, people, environment, safety, and innovation. All aspects that have led ICEL to include the qualification of a Benefit Company in its statute, concretely translating sustainability into all its aspects and integrating and completing the cooperative model in its activities.
President Stefano Bonaccini commented: "ICEL, with over 94% of its staff on permanent contracts, is evidence that the value of cooperation stabilizes the company and prevails over job insecurity, one of the critical issues in today's labor market. The objective and actions of the Emilia-Romagna Region are aimed at accompanying the economic growth of companies like ICEL, investing in vocational and scientific training, supporting ecological and digital transition, and promoting simplification and streamlining to speed up the use of resources from the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan).
"The visit then continued with a tour of the plant, demonstrating the potential of the production facilities, many of which are the result of recent investments oriented towards technological innovation and ecological transition, central to ICEL's strategies.
